After 26 years working in print & marketing, redundancy obliged me to ‘burn the suit’ and embrace a lifestyle change.  I had always had a yearning to try dry stone walling, and was attracted by the idea of creating something that will still be part of the landscape many years from now.  A course at the Royal Agricultural College (http://rsc.rac.ac.uk) provided me with the skills and confidence I needed to take up the challenge for real.  I passed my Dry Stone Walling Association Intermediate level certificate, (LANTRA 1 & 2) and now work for a wide variety of clients in the Cirencester area

One of the best things about walling for a living is the reaction of people I meet for the first time.  Everyone responds with genuine interest in my work, how it’s done, and how I got into it.  A marked contrast to the glazed expression that used to meet my response to the dreaded ‘and what do you do for a living?’

Being an experienced gardener, I can complement my walling work with garden projects.  This could be anything from a complete clearance and re-plan to drawing up planting schemes and ongoing maintenance.  Wherever possible, I will source plants from local suppliers, including Miserden Nursery (http://miserden-nursery.co.uk)

Whether you already have an interest in dry stone walling, or are hoping to find out more about it; or indeed if you just happened on this site during a lunchtime ‘google’ in the office, I hope you enjoy my website.
